RABBIT FIGHTER

Quite an expensive purchase this athletic son of Observatory looks the business. It was however very disappointing that the horse remained a maiden at the end of his 2 year old days where I think it is fair to say he wasn’t campaigned particularly intelligently. He finally won his race at Wolverhampton in April before running below par at Newmarket. He was found to need a soft palate operation which has been successfully carried out.
The horse was sent to Derek Shaw and after several runs Derek finally found the key to the horse when stepping him down to sprint distances. He broke the course record that day and followed up over that track the next week. We had him gelded which took him a while to get over.
It took the horse a while to get over his operation and finally got his head in front in April at Wolverhampton. Bizarrely all his 5 career wins to date have been on the sand yet his turf mark is 9lb higher. Explain that one. He has recently had a slight niggle but will be back in action before the end of the all weather season.
